Ok so can anyone help? I’ve lost a shyan fic where Shane is in the fbi and Ryan is working in a coffee shop and also as a reporter. Shane gets sent to a small town because there is a serial killer. I think it’s implied that Ryan is the serial killer in the summary or tags? It’s incompleted with 5 or 6 chapters

For whatever we lose (like a you or a me) by Hey_There_Ghouls

Summary: Special Agent Shane Madej is a gifted profiler with the FBI who is sent to a small town in Colorado after a series of strange deaths. While trying to get into the mind of the killer, he falls into an unlikely friendship with barista-turned-reporter Ryan Bergara.

But as the bodies mount up and pressure builds, it seems the killer is closer than Shane may think.

Rated: M

Chapters: 5/?, on-going.

Commentary: The author of this fic is one of the sweetest persons I have known in the fandom, and of course their writing was going to be just as good. For real, the more amazing the person is, the better their writing is. I’m only on chapter two at the moment, but this is an interesting story with some very good characterization in one of the fandom’s most loved AUs. You all should try it.

This is what the school walkouts looked like

CNN | March 14, 2018

Across the United States, many students walked out of school Wednesday to say enough is enough with regards to gun violence.

The national school walkout started at 10 a.m. in each time zone and was scheduled to last for at least 17 minutes — one minute for each person killed in a school shooting that happened exactly one month ago in Parkland, Florida.

More than 2,500 walkouts were planned across the country, according to Empower, the youth branch of the Women’s March that has been organizing the event.

Participants called for stricter gun laws as they also remembered the people who lost their lives in Parkland.

Many schools accommodated the demonstration. Others didn’t allow it, encouraging students to express themselves in ways other than walking out.

As a trans guy who’s been working out for a few years now and has learned a lot about their body and building muscle and whatnot in the process, here’s something I don’t see mentioned, like ever.

Abs don’t really look Like That™

when they’re relaxed.

Here’s a few examples from a Reddit thread asking for pictures of people both flexing and not flexing their abs

I rarely see male body positivity posts in general but I’ve never seen this mentioned, and honestly? Call me stupid for it if you want, but I genuinely thought that super defined look was something that was achievable in a relaxed state, simply because I’ve never seen anything to the contrary.

As someone with body dysmorphia as well as dysphoria, you can imagine the damaging effects that might have had on my mental health trying by to achieve the impossible. I can only imagine how many other masculine folk out there could be struggling with the exact same thing.

Anyway like, this is mostly to point out for masculine folks that might be pushing themselves too hard, that you’re probably doing better than you realise.

Anecdotal stuff aside, this is an important thing for artists to remember as well! This is something I never realised despite being an artist that goes to figure drawing classes on the regular and having modelled for them myself- because of course people with abs are flexing for the poses! I was doing it too!

It’s always been like that between them. The moment Kaneki’s found him on the rooftop, Hide’s not expecting anything grandeur; no ugly tears or silly hiccups or painful confessions or heartbroken mantras of ‘How could I do this to you?’.

Just a small thank you.

They sit there together at the edge of the building; golden strips and clear fields of clouds and hidden stars in front of them. Nothing too bright. There are no fireworks.

They talk. Hide shows Kaneki his face and Kaneki swears he’s going to take responsibility for the wounds he’s caused.

Hide chuckles.

“You could break my heart into smithereens and I’d glue every piece back together just so that I could have the privilege of loving you all over again, Kaneki.”

And that? That makes Kaneki laugh, makes him cry with crystalline tears mapping his cheeks, and makes him smile so brightly that Hide raises his hand move to brush the back of Kaneki’s hand with his thumb.

“You owe me nothing, Kaneki.”

“You’re insufferable,” Kaneki says fondly.

The ghoul shifts his hand so that he can squeeze his fingers around Hide’s palm.

It feels as if they’re sitting in front of a fireplace, mugs of coffee in their hands – old lovers trading stories and kisses and tales of things that have yet to come.

Hide feels like dying. He can never have that. Not like that. Not with this face.

“Hey,” Kaneki murmurs. His smile is still there. Kaneki reaches out to touch his face. Hide recoils.

Kaneki doesn’t falter.

“Did I bite you here, too?” the ghoul tenderly touches Hide’s cheek. Hide’s breath stutters, a silly sound escapes his throat.

Yes,” the blond murmurs.

“Okay.” Kaneki nods and leans closer to kiss his scarred cheek. “Here, too?” his friend asks once more. This time Kaneki softly brushes his thumb against Hide’s chin and the blond nods again – eyes following Kaneki’s every move.

Kaneki grins for the very first time when he kisses Hide’s chin; like he knows a secret hidden beneath Hide’s scarred skin and pulsating heart. His gaze is all spring and golden candlelight.

It’s ridiculous how in love Hide is right now.

“How about here? And here? Ahh, maybe here, too?”

Hide laughs, his mechanical voice resonates like broken bells. Kaneki’s lips don’t burn his skin when he kisses Hide’s nose, his jaws, his cheekbones, his neck, his ears and his eyelids – there are no scars there and yet Kaneki still kisses them.

Then Kaneki moves down, bringing Hide’s wrists to his mouth, kissing the pulse under his skin, kissing Hide’s knuckles, the tender spots near his elbows – anything Kaneki can reach; he kisses.

“Where else?” there’s a teasing tone in Kaneki’s voice. His gaze lands on Hide’s mouth – or what’s left of it. No hint of anything distasteful on his face.

“May I?”

“Sure,” Hide adds quietly.

Kaneki’s hands are on Hide’s hips, their bodies slot together before Kaneki carefully drags Hide down with him until both of them are lying on the cold floor – side by side. Kaneki continues to kiss him. Hide’s laughing until his cheeks hurt and his body shakes and his eyes burn with red summer sun. His heart is filled with streams of reddish glows.

“You’re such a sap, Kaneki.”

“I get to kiss you so I don’t care.”

“Dork.”

“Doofus.”

Hide rolls his eyes.

They move closer; Kaneki sprawls out on top of Hide, arms, and legs entangled together until they can’t tell where’s the beginning and where’s the end.

There’s breeze all around them. The sky is wild and open.

The point of warmth is right here; when Kaneki talks about his life, when his eyes twinkle with hundreds of wonders, when his nails graze tenderly against Hide’s arms, and when he presses his face into Hide’s neck and mouths the words Hide’s longed to hear.

Time fades away. Here and there, somewhere else, all over this place, a celestial body of stars in the galaxy. But that’s okay. They don’t need an eternity at all.

This is enough as it is.

I can never understand how Snape apologetics can stand up for him when he CANONICALLY does this shit.

I can maybe, maybe, understand those who haven’t read the books standing up for him, because honestly the movies don’t cover all the horrible stuff he does. But those who have read the books and still stick up for him baffle me.

I mean, you don’t see anyone sticking up for the Dursley’s or Umbridge, when they do the same stuff to Harry as Snape. How is Snape any different?

@elletry food for thought?
