“One of the biggest, and possibly the biggest, obstacle to becoming a writer… is learning to live with the fact that the wonderful story in your head is infinitely better, truer, more moving, more fascinating, more perceptive, than anything you’re going to manage to get down on paper. So you have to learn to live with the fact that you’re never going to write well enough. Of course that’s what keeps you trying – trying as hard as you can – which is a good thing.”

Hmm, an idea, stay with me here: AU where instead of James’s ability to form lasting attachments being scarred for life because of his evil brother who secretly hated him, James was adopted by Kincade, so instead of being an international man of mystery, he’s just that one guy in the Scottish highlands who gets stuck with Q one winter when MI6 needed to position Q there and he has to listen to this dumb boffin complain about the internet connection all winter which is wild af cause normally people complain about the cold but no, this kid’s complaining about the internet and also he brought two cats with him and oh no he’s cute when it’s 6am and he wakes up with fluffy hair and no glasses and comes down with a blanket around his shoulder, oh no, James didn’t plan for this when he told MI6 they could use Skyfall as an outpost for a mission oh no

@colinmorgasms’ The Change trilogy is, simply put, the Season 6 we deserve. She’s been quietly working on this for years, and having read most of it, I can guarantee that it is M I N D B L O W I N G. I am not kidding.

My wrap-around covers cannot even begin to do this gorgeous epic justice.

(If you have any doubt at all about the caliber of her writing, I dare you to check out any of her other fics here.)

But listen, Mallory has a few more chapters left to write before she can post.

I think we can all agree it is a pretty mean feat to write three Big Bangs’ worth of fic in one go with very little cheerleading, so if you could, please give her a friendly nudge now for me? It would be much appreciated! Then maybe we’d be able to post something before the end of the month as previously planned, eh? ; )

In the meantime, have some teasers. ♥️

Some 00Q Ideas

Some different modern AU settings from the norm coffee shop love:

– Bond is a lawyer and Q is his paralegal. They prep cases in their tiny, dingy lawfirm and occasionally eat/work in the 24-hour diner next door. Eve cameos as their assistant. Very Marvel’s Daredevil vibe.

– Bond is a detective and Q is one of his grey-area informants. Q always meets Bond wearing a hoodie and a scarf over his face, so Bond doesn’t know what he looks like. The only thing to reliably go by is his voice when he speaks.

– Bond is an alcoholic and Q is a drug addict. They meet at a Narcotics Anonymous meeting place and hit it off. They then help (or hinder) each other through their relapses and recoveries. Potential to get very dark very quickly.

– Bond is a detective (again) and Q is a professor at a university. Bond is sent to investigate a series of murders/drug ring/whatever and Q just keeps on appearing at the crime scene ‘by chance.’
(yes I know that sounds like Guardian but I swear I was not thinking of that when I thought of this.)

– Bond is a long-distance truck driver and Q is a hitchhiker. When they first meet Bond mistakes Q for a truck-stop prostitute because he was chatting with some of them. They end up essentially on a road trip across America.
