let’s talk about James and Q post-Spectre
Q can’t trust James anymore, because James took advantage of him and put him in very real danger without any apparent thought about anything besides his own goal
and James… did he realise he was doing it? was it a ‘the end justifies the means’ thing for him, he knew it was a kinda shitty thing to do but he felt it was necessary? or didn’t he realise why exactly Q was so easily swayed, does he know Q has a huge crush on him? did he use it to his own advantage or was he oblivious?
give me a Q who’s furious with himself and with James, so furious that he finally grows a spine where Bond is concerned, a Q who draws a huge line in the sand and says “you see this? don’t fucking cross it again, I will destroy you if you do”
give me a James who realises he fucked up, he fucked up really bad, because he’s lost Q’s trust, and Q was almost a friend
not that he has any of those. so he works hard, really hard, to be… more considerate of others? because it’s not just Q who’s pissed off, so is Moneypenny, and once he gets his head out of his arse he can understand why. so he tries.how long does it take for Q to start trusting James again? how long is it before they’re friends? at what point after that does Q realise that his crush has changed, because now he actually knows James Bond, now he might actually be starting to fall in love with him, shit shit shit
and at what point does James look at Q and realise oh fuck, he’s in way too deep
