• Their ringtones for each other

Kai has different ringtones for the team which are just the different standard beeping noises. Max’s is the loudest one and he claims it’s because Max is noisy but the truth is he really doesn’t want to miss Max’s calls.
I had this idea that Max keeps putting snippits of different songs for Kai but changes them so often he doesn’t recognize them, and finally just finds a clip of the Blader DJ shouting Kai’s name. (Max knows exactly which match it was from just hearing it. Kai doesn’t)

• Their FB relationship status

Kai is one of those people who only uses FB to check on people and never does anything. He changed it to in a relationship assuming no one would ever look at his status except for Max. (He was wrong.) Max keeps posting events with their dates, anniversaries, vs. matches, etc.

• Whether they are addicted to couples selfies

Max will happily pounce on Kai for selfies. Kai smiles for them, but draws the line at kissing for the camera and put his hand over Max’s face the first time he tried.

• Which of their friends is over-joyed shipper trash that they are together

Ray is mostly just relieved they finally figured things out. Tala is smug because he totally called it. I keep wondering if they have any fans in-universe who consider them an OTP/NOTP and if they sunk some ships getting together.

• Who overshares intimate relationship details

Max is the one who gets so happy he tells friends a little too much about their relationship, especially with Tyson who is the person who least wants to know the intimate details and will flail at Kai about it later. Usually Kai is too amused by the reactions.
Sometimes when Kai is angry he blurts out things that make it very clear how he feels about Max, which he feels are private (more like emotionally intimate) but Max is never embarrassed about it.

• Who steals the other’s clothes

I can see Max borrowing Kai’s clothes just to be silly. Sometimes when Kai has a bad time he wants to curl up in one of Max’s t-shirts. Especially if he can’t talk to or hold Max right then, it becomes a sort of last resort. (I think after a while when they’re apart one of Max’s favorite shirts somehow always ends up in Kai’s luggage.)

• Who’s the PDA fan

Max is affectionate anywhere. He especially likes to hold hands and will pounce and hug Kai any time he can get away with it. While Kai will do some physically demonstrative things (like try to shield Max from the crush on the subway) he prefers to be affectionate in private where he can focus on just Max.

• Who proposes

Kai. Even though Max is a big driving force in taking them from one step of their relationship to the next, I think Kai would be the one to want to make it official. Even if it’s just asking to officially move in together, I can see him wanting to have things spelled out.

I can also see him asking and then leaving to get a ring he’s stashed somewhere because he wasn’t going to just pull that out and put Max on the spot. Max would just be laughing about the two-part proposal and hugging Kai so he won’t be offended.
