actual male who doesn’t want to pay every date: actually, the idea that i have to provide for both myself and my female companions is actually very harmful because it suggests that i’m inherently stronger than they are and that i have to be able to be strong at all times. this is harmful to me because it forces dangerous roles and it’s also dangerous to women everywhere because it paints them as weaker than their male friends. I need feminism to dismantle these built-up illustrations of my gender being hypermasculine.

men who are actually bothered by these standards: the eventual breaking down of gender stereotypes that feminism seeks to do will result in reduced roles for both men and women, causing both of those genders to have fewer beauty standards to adhere to.
